About Me
Hi! My name is Jessica Butcher and I currently serve as the school psychologist for White Oak Elementary and Reedy Creek Middle. I have over 10 years experience in the North Carolina public school system and I am excited to begin my second year as a psychologist for Wake County Public Schools.
I was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC, spending my first six years of employment working in the community in which I was raised. I then worked in Wilmington, NC before making my way to Wake County in November 2018. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the students and families in my new community and I am excited for the upcoming school year!
Job Role
Schools psychologists apply knowledge in mental health, learning and behavior to help children achieve school success. They partner with families, teachers, administrators and other professionals to create safe and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and the community. -NASP

As a school psychologist, my job role includes participating in MTSS, IEP and 504 meetings; collaborating with families, teachers and community providers; administering psychological assessments and providing counseling services to students. I am dually licensed with the department of public education and the NC Psychology Board.
Weekly Schedule
During the 2019-2020 school year, I will be at White Oak Elementary on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and Reedy Creek Middle on Mondays and Wednesdays.
